Standards governing the design, installation, verification and management of structured cabling systems set the benchmark for performance and are the basis upon which most of these cabling systems are built. The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) produces numerous standards specifying the manufacture and use of cabling systems. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) produces application standards, specifically including Ethernet specifications that are symbiotic with cabling standards. This webcast seminar, produced by Cabling Installation & Maintenance, provides insight into some of the current cabling-standards developments within the TIA and the IEEE. The presentations will be delivered by participants in the standards-development process; neither the event nor the elements of it are official reports from any standards-development organization.
