Margarita Diaz-Granados Higgins
Born in Colombia and raised in Venezuela, Margarita has always sought out challenging professional positions. With a background in Industrial Production and expertise in maritime shipping and logistics, she has excelled with managerial positions in operations, sales, training and managing for Crowley Maritime Corporations, Hamburg Sued and CMA CGM. She relocated to the United States and made an immediate impact in the telecommunications field with Cima Networks as an office and sales manager.
Margarita maintains regular contact with existing clients to be sure Pro Telecom Solutions continues to meet their ever expanding needs. Evaluating the sucess of the organization, maintaining awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards. Communicating regularly with project managers to stay involved in projects currently underway as a way to better serve her clients.
As president, she takes on the execution and responsibility of all jobs, ensuring they are completed correctly and on a timely manner.
Sam R. Jones
Vice President of Operations
Sam was born in New York City, raised in North Carolina, and graduated college in Virginia Beach, VA. He began his telecommunications career in CATV, working for large cable MSO's (multiple system operators) as well as smaller private cable TV operators. He quickly moved up from installer to lead technician, then expanded his expertise to project management, receiving many awards and certifications along the way. His project management abilities have served him and his clients well as he transitioned to also work in Data, Telephony, CCTV, fiber optics, and the structured cabling fields.
Sam has managed hundreds of telecom projects, from highly complex, six month projects exceeding $1.0 million dollar budgets to smaller yet still intricate, mission critical projects of high visibility. Sam demonstrates on every project his pledge to provide clients with superior communication and a keen focus on adhering to budgets, while maintaining schedules and building projects to specifications.
He holds certifications from Raychem fiber splicing as well as many NCTI certifications covering broadband and cable TV communications. He continues his education today, now in his seventeenth year in the telecommunications field.
Michael D. Higgins
Senior Project Manager
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mike joined the US Navy at eighteen, and he worked as an Aviation Electrician (AE) in the Aircraft Intermite Maintenance Department (AIMD). He was trained in micro-miniature solder technologies, aircraft instrument repair, and worked in the AIMD cable and connector repair shop (68B + 69C). During his career, he was stationed at NTC Orlando, FL, NAS Memphis, NAS Cecil Field in Jacksonville, FL, and on the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) in San Diego, CA. He also served with Fleet Activities in Yokosuka, Japan. He served a total of 9 years and was Honorably Discharged.
Mike started his civilian commercial career in telecommunications as a CATV service technician for Time Warner Cable. He has performed work worked for Data Cabling companies in Memphis, TN and Atlanta, GA, initially as lead technician then later as a Project Manager. He is an active member of SBCA and BICSI and holds several certifications in the telecommunications field. With 24 years experience in the electrical and telecommunications field, Mike knows what it takes to produce the desired results the first time.
Mid-South Account Manager
Ramiro Urena was born in Los Angeles, California and moved to Arkansas at age seventeen. He embarked on his career in telecommunications in 1995 with Comcast Television as a Cable TV installer and was quickly promoted to a technician after only one year. After three years total with Comcast, he became an entrepreneur, starting a small CATV contracting company. In that role he completed cable systems upgrade projects, including splicing and balancing of cable distribution plant.
After operating his own business for two years he joined MediaWorks as installer technician for the Little Rock area. One year later he became also responsible for the Memphis area. Ramiro was promoted to market manager after two years. This broadened his area of responsibility to also include Jackson, Mississippi. His duties in that role included selection, training and supervision of technicians, improving the QC and Preventive Maintenance programs, supervision of construction contractors for new network installations and major upgrades, building head ends, and on-demand maintenance and repairs for both head end and distribution plant. He was also in charge of daily supervision of installations and participation in routine service work for his market.
Ramiro was with MediaWorks (which became DIRECPATH during his tenure) for a total of ten years, having been named employee of the year as well as having garnered numerous employee of the month honors. He was often cited as the best in the company at building and managing relationships with clients through excellent communication.
Once again the entrepreneurial bug bit, and he left DIRECPATH to build DIRECTV and data networks for MDU (Multiple Dwelling Units) for several companies as well as complete cabling installation projects.
Ramiro is married with three sons. Interests include sharing family time in the outdoors and sports, primarily football and baseball. He is very involved with his sons’ baseball activities, having coached their teams for years.
Ricardo I. Barros
Ricardo Barros was born in Caracas, Venezuela, raised in Miami, Florida and attended Miami-Dade Community College. His technical career started as an assembler for Dade-Behring, Inc. where he gained valuable skills assembling PC boards for medical diagnostic machines. After relocating to Georgia, Ricardo worked for AT&T for 10 years as an electronic/switch technician. In this position he gained valuable troubleshooting skills which allow him to accurately diagnose issues while he provides superior customer service. In 2012, Ricardo worked as a field technician with Ericsson on several projects to provide cell site quality checks for the Sprint 4G LTE rollover.
Ricardo’s attention to detail and technical knowledge ensure that Pro Telecom Solutions’ warehouse and equipment are organized and that materials are distributed efficiently and in a timely manner.
Ricardo is very active with his church and enjoys spending time with his wife and son.
Allen S. Rice
Video Installation Manager
Allen Rice was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and was raised in Germany and Japan as his father served in the US Army. At age 19, Allen joined the US Army and served proudly for 10 years. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Allen started his career in telecommunications in 1994 working for Primestar Satellite systems. In that role he worked mostly in the commercial department designing, installing and performing maintenance.
In 2001, Allen started his own telecommunications business (ARCA Telecommunications) where he contracted for major providers such as Institutional Network Communications and DIRECPATH. In addition, he also designed and installed video projects for several universities. He is certified in Light Brigade FFTx for Fiber Optic, Dish Network Smartbox and DIRECTV MFH2. With over 20 years of telecommunications experience, Allen brings strong knowledge of satellite systems and cable distribution to the Pro Telecom Solutions team.
Allen is married with three children, and loves to spend time outside with his family.
